learning this week

This week the year 6s had to fill out part of a camp booklet  and fill out our goals out our goals my ones are compete the tyroean travers and not complain.

this week

I have been doing drama for my inqury we have been learning about the elements which are focus,time,role,action,tension and space we also learnt the techniques and they are movement voice facial expression and gesture. So that is what bean doing this week.

pet day

On monday myross bush had pet day were we could bring our pets to school and get them judged and if you brought a lamb or a dog you could race them to win ribons like the judging.  you could also buy baking and lots of other lolies and food it was so good.  there was also a bouncey castle that everyone would wrestle on.

3D Shapes

this week we learnt about 3d shapes a platonic solid is a 3d shape that is made of the same 2d shape like a cube it has 4 squares.

pet day

next monday my school is having pet day were we get to bring our pet to school and get them juged to win ribbons. are lots of other activates like lamb racing,bouncy castle and lots of stuff to buy.  I will be bringing my friend bruce.

my super hero

My super hero has super glasses to see codes.  He has a flame staff that calls a dragon that gives him all the answers .  He likes to wear  blue leather problem proof suits.  he has angle wings that fly and blow problems away.

Market Day

Next Monday we have Market Day, which is when we raise money to go to camp at Stewart Island.

All the Year 6's have to participate in Market Day.  In my stand I am working with Jack and Josh.  We are selling slushies and we are selling turns on the Play Station.  One of the Play Stations will be hooked up to the Interactive Whiteboard (if it works) to give a larger than life experience.  So come to Myross Bush School and buy stuff, lots of stuff, next Monday to help get us to camp.

Last Weekend

Last weekend I finally got to go to Greymouth for South Island Country and Town Swim Meet.  I didn't win anything but I got Personal Best times in 50 and 100 Freestyle and 50 Backstroke, 1.5 second improvement in my 50's and 9 second improvement in my 100 and I didn't get last in anything, I did miss my PB in the 100 Backstoke.  Southland got the trophy for most points for a region and my club Orca was third placed club overall, and Southland were the loudest team there we shouted down Eastern Districts even though they were a bigger and older team than us!  It was a really long trip to drive there and back.

The weekend was made even better when my sister Jamie won three awards for hair dressing at the L'Oreal Hair Dressing Compettion in Auckland.  She won her category, the Peoples Choice Award and the Magazine Editors Choice Award.  This was the first time a hairdresse rhad won three awards at this competition in one night! She won $8000 in prizes but she isn't going to take me to Sydney as the second person in the trip for two that she won.

Latest Update

Currently I am reading 2 books, at home it is Set in Stone from the Chronicles of Stone and my literature circle book is the 39 Clues.  Set in Stone is about a brother and sister who's tribe got wiped out and are trying to join a new tribe that have cool weapons.  To start with the new tribe didn't like them but now they are starting to sort of get on.  I have only just started 39 Clues but it seems interesting.  Well I now have three days off school, yaaay, as I am away to Greymouth for a long weekend of swimming.  I know my class will miss me because I am the bomb!

More Swimming

Yesterday I swam at the Development Championship Meet I got one finalist ribbon two third place ribbons and two first place ribbons for the Medley and Freestyle Relays.  I had fun at this meet and it was good practice for next weekend when I go to Greymouth for the Country and Town Meet.

Southern Zone Swim Meet 2011

Hi Followers.

Today I swam at the Southern Zone Swim Meet I got:
3rd Place Ribbons for,50m Freestyle, 50m Backstroke and 50m Breaststroke
2nd Place Ribbons for, 100m Breaststroke and 200m Freestyle Relay
1st Place Medals for, 100m Freestyle, 100m Backstroke and 50m Butterfly.

All of us from Myross Bush School had a fun day and realy enjoyed ourselves.  We have to thank Mr Marriot the Principal at Gorge Road School for organising the Meet and holding it at his School.

All About Me

Hi my name is Kees, I am from New Zealand.  My favourite colour is purple, my sports are waterpolo, swimming and football.  I have an older brother and sister and a younger brother and sister.  We have a pet cat and a pet dog but we are looking after my older brothers cat and dog as well at the moment.  I enjoy reading, playing my PSP and camping.  My favourite subjects are reading and maths.
I blog because it is a way of sharing my learning, thoughts and wisdom with the world.

My Learning

I have been doing e-pals from the United States.  My e-pal is Grant and he is cool, he likes farming and he plays American Football (Gridiron).  Other things about my learning are how much I enjoy being in Room 8, the way I am encouraged to push myself and the fun way we learn.
